To connect and learn from one another, and to foster female talent in manufacturing, John Deere hosted The Women in Manufacturing Association event at the John Deere facility in Zweibrücken, Germany.
Committed to advancing female talent in manufacturing

127 manufacturing professionals from Germany, U.S., Canada, Argentina, Mexico, Brazil, and Spain came together for the International Women's Network Hybrid Meeting. The organization supports more than 17,000 individual members worldwide and offers a variety of programs and resources for the advancement of female talent. The event was co-sponsored by Amazon and Robinson+Cole.
John Deere Factory Manager, Cornelia Walde, who hosted The Women in Manufacturing Association event in Zweibrücken, highlighted three key takeaways she acquired during her nearly 18-year career with John Deere during her keynote speech.
"Difficult times make you grow. It gave me confidence in my own abilities and in the abilities of the people around me," said Cornelia. "Be authentic. We are all doing our best work when we feel safe, and working with people we can be ourselves with."
"Where I am and what I do is certainly something I have worked hard for, but I would not be here today without people that supported me. And without me supporting others. We make each other stronger," Cornelia added.
Leveraging a network for success

The Women in Manufacturing Association event saw Founder and President, Allison Grealis, provide a powerful keynote on the state of women in manufacturing, based on up-to-date information and key statistics.
Furthermore, Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Abrams Industries, Nur Hayat Nezir, LLB, focused on what is needed to leverage one’s own network for success.
