Bringing children into the workplace is not only fun but it can also be highly educational, interactive and inspiring. As a top employer for woman and a champion for workplace inclusion and diversity, Schneider Electric proudly conducted its annual 'Bring Your Kids to Work' days across different offices to inspire young minds.
Gaining first-hand experience
Children of the employees at the Beijing office of Schneider Electric stepped into the future for two days. With a variety of fun activities, they learnt first hand what engineering involves and how fun it could be.
Schneider Electric UK also held an event at their Eurotherm offices that saw controller plastic cases prototyped from 3D images and drawn using CAD (Computer aided design) before emerging from a 3D printer.
Inspiring the future generation
A tour around the company's facilities was popular with many of the children. “After our tour they had a much better understanding about all the people who help make our company a success and where their parent plays an important role. It also opened their minds to a broad variety of career possibilities in their own future,” commented Amber Watkin, Application Marketing Engineer and STEM co-ordinator at Eurotherm.
