Cathy Christer works for AECOM in the Middle East as director of Mechanical, Electrical and Public Health (MEP) Services Engineering. She leads the company’s large building services team.

Delivering a wide range of projects

In her role, Cathy oversees AECOM’s MEP design consultancy services. Her team delivers a wide range of exciting projects for clients across the area.

Building services is a key component of AECOM’s integrated offer in the Middle East. I look forward to leading and mentoring our talented team of engineers as we continue to deliver sustainable, innovative and technically robust MEP design solutions for our clients,” Cathy says.

An exciting career in the industry

Cathy’s experience certainly demonstrates that she is well-suited to lead such a large team. She is a chartered mechanical building services engineer with over 25 years’ experience in providing MEP consultancy services, mostly based in the Middle East.

Before AECOM, Cathy worked for Godwin Austen Johnson, where she was partner and MEP team leader in Dubai. Before that, she worked as MEP Associate Director at Atkins and also URS Scott Wilson.

Cathy is also part of two engineering institutions and was heavily involved with regional activities when she was living in the UK.

“Cathy brings strong industry experience and a deep understanding of the Middle East market to AECOM. With her extensive experience in the delivery of major developments, she is well-positioned to lead our building services team as we continue to deliver large-scale, multidiscipline projects for clients across a range of sectors in the region,” says Hamed Zaghw, Chief Executive of AECOM in the Middle East and Africa.
