Indra Nooyi is appointed to Amazon's Board of Directors

Indra Nooyi is appointed to Amazon's Board of Directors and to the Audit Committee of the Board. She is the fifth female member of Amazon's 11-person board.

One of the world's most powerful women

Indra has been consistently named among the world's 100 most powerful women. In 2014, she was ranked at number 13 on the Forbes list of The World's 100 Most Powerful Women and was ranked the 2nd most powerful woman on the Fortune list in 2015.

Years of leadership experience 

Indra brings to the role years of impressive leadership experience. Prior to Amazon, Indra was the Chief Executive Officer of PepsiCo, where she also served as the Chairman of its board of directors. She was elected to PepsiCo’s board of directors and became its President and Chief Financial Officer in 2001, and held leadership roles in finance, corporate strategy and development, and strategic planning after joining PepsiCo in 1994.

Indra has also served as a director of Schlumberger Limited since 2015 and was Vice President of Motorola. 

Indra gained a bachelor's degrees in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics from Madras Christian College of the University of Madras and a Post Graduate Programme Diploma from Indian Institute of Management Calcutta. She also received a master's degree in Public and Private Management from Yale School of Management.
