Amazon is one of the top five most desirable workplaces in the U.S. It has received the accolade from professional networking website, LinkedIn, for the fourth year in a row.
"Thank you to the thousands of employees who continue to invent for our customers and make Amazon a great place to work!" tweeted Amazon.
Finding the most sought-after companies
Each year LinkedIn uses data from its users around the world to find out which companies are attracting and retaining the most talent. LinkedIn then collects these results and publishes a list of its Top Companies. This list acts as a ranking of the current most desirable companies to work for.
LinkedIn bases its ranking off four main aspects: interest in the company, engagement with the company’s employees, job demand and employee retention.
Amazon cares for its employees
Amazon has been ranked at an impressive third place on the list and LinkedIn cites some aspects that make Amazon such a sought-after company for jobseekers. For example, Amazon has raised its minimum wage to $15 an hour for every employee, whether part-time, full-time, seasonal or temporary.
LinkedIn adds that Amazon increased its 401(k) contributions to all Amazonians, including part-time and seasonal workers, which begins from the first day.
Further recognition for a top employer
This is not the first time Amazon as been recognized as a top employer. Amazon was also celebrated in Universum Global's 10th annual World's Most Attractive Employers report as one of the companies Engineering/IT students most want to work.
