Lorena is a Neuromodulation Distributor Supervisor for Medtronic based in Colombia and works in the Andean region.

She shares insight into her working life with the medical technology company, where she enjoys a challenging and interesting mix of responsibilities.

A truly varied mix of daily activities

The Neuromodulation business unit of Colombia includes many different daily activities, and this allows Lorena to enjoy a varied workload.

Some responsibilities Lorena has include – the implementation of sales models, process work, Human Resources staff acquisition, inventory adjustments, customer service and brand positioning.

Lorena says: “The number one reason I enjoy working for Medtronic is because I am able to work with high-tech products that impact the quality of life for patients and families around the world.

“I get satisfaction from my job in seeing the outcome of patients who benefit from therapies and products that we offer.”

Sound advice for aspiring women in tech

Lorena shares some useful advice for job candidates looking to join the innovative medical technology company.

She says: “Every day, strive for continuous improvement and ensure you have high commitment, dedication, respect, knowledge, strong relationships, initiative and a passion to win.”

For Lorena, it is also important to the right balance between family life and work life, no matter where you work in whatever role. This balance is what provides her with happiness, both at work and with her family.

She says: “Having a solid balance allows me to live in the moment and provides me with the ability to see life in a different perspective.”
