Eaton CEO discusses company's commitment to sustainability

Craig Arnold, CEO of Eaton is a member of the Business Roundtable 'Embracing Sustainability' challenge and explains how Eaton is making a positive difference to our planet.

Building a strong and sustainable future

Business Roundtable is an initiative that aims to help build a strong and sustainable economic future in the United States through action to increase opportunity and advance public policies that better enable people of all backgrounds to achieve their potential.

"When employees feel included, we build a better, more competitive and sustainable business. Our journey to be a model of inclusion and diversity in our industry isn’t over; in many ways, I feel we’re just getting started," says Craig. "We aspire to be a model of inclusion and diversity in our industry - a place where everyone matters, a place where everyone belongs."

Sustainability is at the heart of Eaton

Part of Eaton's involvement in the Business Roundtable includes a commitment to sustainability

"Sustainability has always been at the heart of nearly everything we do," says Craig.

"Sustainability is reflected in our vision statement, which is to improve quality of life and the environment through technology and services."

Craig adds that sustainability is also reflected in Eaton's products: "By making power safe, reliable and efficient, we know we are creating a more sustainable future."

Sustainability is reflected through solutions

Craig explains that Eaton is changing its own environmental footprint by transforming the way it views manufacturing - Eaton's output has gone up, but its waste has been reduced. This is thanks to Eaton's aim to make all of its sites zero waste-to-landfill; Eaton's success in reducing its green house gas emissions by ten per cent; and Eaton's use of intelligent power management solutions that save energy, save money and reduce emissions.

"While we're encouraged by what we've achieved so far, we know we're just getting started," adds Craig.
