HCL talks straight in women’s work magazine

Did you know that, thinking beyond its usual day-to-day work output, HCL Technologies also publishes exciting magazines through a thought leadership platform?

The platform, dubbed Straight Talk, showcases the experience-based insights of CIOs, CTOs and other senior technology executives. Straight Talk includes two flagship magazines, CIO Straight Talk, for chief information officers and senior IT professionals, and CTO Straight Talk, for chief technology officers and product engineering executives.

However, the platform has also published a special edition magazine – Straight Talk Women in Technology.

In this special publication, senior women technology leaders share stories of learning and leadership. The magazine - which can be downloaded here - offers career advice, leadership lessons and business insights from executives at P&G, the United Nations, InterContinental Hotels Group, Olin Chemicals, Philips and other leading organizations.

A look inside the exclusive Straight Talk women’s edition

Roshni Nadar Malhotra, Executive Director & CEO, HCL Corporation Vice Chairperson, HCL Technologies, pens the welcome page for the publication.

She explains that studies suggest women are underrepresented in STEM fields and HCL is working had to close the gender gap.

Roshni writes: “Studies show that organizations with a strong gender diversity focus perform better as compared to their peers. Not only are these organizations better equipped to handle change, but, in most instances, they are the leaders in the shift towards a truly sustainable and equitable model that can help us achieve a Planet 50-50 by 2030.

“At HCL, we are aware of and taking part in this paradigm shift. With a presence in 44 nations and a 130,000-strong global workforce, we have identified gender diversity and the promotion of gender equality as one of the key tenets of our 2030 roadmap. We feel and believe that innovations that disrupt ‘business as usual’ are central to removing structural barriers and ensuring that no woman is left behind due to the challenges of a work-life balance.”

As part of this endeavor, the special edition of Straight Talk features the experience-based insights of women technology leaders. HCL says the edition is integral to its broader vision of fostering and celebrating inclusive leadership roles for women across industries and domains.

HCL Technologies states: “We launched CIO Straight Talk magazine in 2010 in order to shine a spotlight on perspectives that technology executives have distilled from their professional experiences on how to develop and deploy technology in order to leverage information, launch new products, meet customer needs, and otherwise drive business results.”

In addition to the magazines, Straight Talk offers interactive webinars and live events held around the world; monthly Tweet chats; online communities for technology executives and a content-driven website.
