Prime employer for women, Northrop Grumman, served as Presenting Sponsor for the 6th Annual Women in Cyber Security Reception hosted by the CyberWire.
Celebrating and valuing women's successes
The event is an annual networking occasion that highlights and celebrates the value and successes of women in the cyber security industry. The gathering in Washington DC includes women from the private sector, academia, and government from across the region at varying points along the career spectrum. It’s an opportunity for some of the best and brightest women in cyber security to connect with one another, to strengthen relationships and build new ones. It also serves as a forum for women seeking cyber security careers and mentors to connect with professionals who are shaping the industry.
Th event was held at the International Spy Museum’s new location at L’Enfant Plaza in Washington, DC, with a selection of fine wine and refreshments served to delegates. The theme was 'Creating Connections' and was chosen because the concept is common to the mission of organizations who feel strongly about empowering women to succeed in the field of cyber security.
A history of supporting events for women in STEM
In addition to supporting the Annual Women in Cyber Security Reception, Northrop Grumman has a history of supporting events which encourage and promote women working in the STEM sectors. For example, the company attended the Grace Hopper Celebration - the world's largest gathering of women technologists, produced by AnitaB.org, and also had a stand at the Celebrating Women in Computing event in Orlando.
