Sunita Mal is an HR Business Partner at Schneider Electric where she works full-time alongside being a busy parent.
Sunita shares why she is grateful for her employer's flexibile working policy, and how a career with Schneider Electric allows her to juggle her responsibilities as a working professional while still being available for her children.
Enjoying the beauty of flexible full-time work
"When I talk about how great it is to work for Schneider Electric to my friends and family, there will always be a point when flexibility is discussed, and it is then when I am reminded how lucky I am to work for a company that understands and accepts the need to be flexible," says Sunita. "I am a full-time working mum and it’s challenging to juggle this with all the activities that go on at school, but I try not to miss a school assembly, sports day or parents evening. I am able to manage my diary so that I have the right work life balance."
"Gone are the days where you clocked in at 9am and out at 5pm with a strict 30-minute lunch break," adds Sunita. "Don’t get me wrong there are times when I’ve started work at 6am and times when I’ve finished at 9pm and not had a lunch break, but that’s the beauty of being allowed to be flexible – the day job always gets done and I don’t miss out on still being able to be a mum."
