To determine the 2020 Best Workplaces in Manufacturing & Production list, Fortune partnered with the people analytics firm Great Place to Work® to analyze anonymous survey feedback representing more than160,000 US employees in the Manufacturing & Production industry.

Employees responded to over 60 survey questions describing the extent to which their organization creates a Great Place to Work For All™.

Eighty-five percent of the evaluation is based on what employees say about their experiences of trust and reaching their full human potential as part of their organization, no matter who they are or what they do.

Great Place to Work analyzes these experiences relative to each organization’s size, workforce make up, and what’s typical relative to their peers in the industry.

The remaining 15 percent of the rank is based on an assessment of all employees’ daily experiences of innovation, the company’s values, and the effectiveness of their leaders, to ensure they're consistently experienced.

Creating an excellent workplace culture

According to the Great Place to Work® 2019 U.S. National Employee Engagement Study80% of Schneider Electric employees say the company is a great place to work, compared to 59% in a typical company.

91% of employees say that they are able to take time off from work when they think it's necessary, while 88% of workers are given a lot of responsibility by Schneider Electric.

Meanwhile, 87% state that when they joined the company, they were made to feel welcome; 85% agree that Schneider Electric management is honest and ethical in its business practices and, finally, 85% of employees feel proud of what they have accomplished with Schneider Electric.

'People', 'benefits', 'opportunities', 'culture', 'diversity', and 'flexibility' appear as key reasons why people choose to work for Schneider Electric.

"We have many people that know the story of our success from way back.... 25 years or more," say the surveyed employees. "It is rare to see that in our industry. We are proud to be Schneider Electric employees."
