Medtronic VP Sheri Lewis shares positive lifestyle changes

 November 17, 2020

Medtronic has launched a series of Healthier Together employee stories that delves into how employees around the world have made positive lifestyle changes throughout the COVID-19 pandemic.

The series sees Medtronic highlight how individuals are leading, living, and working differently in these challenging times.

Sheri Lewis is Vice President of Global Operations for the Medtronic Minimally Invasive Therapies Group and shares how the pandemic has enabled her to renew her focus on well-being and healthy lifestyle habits, including establishing a different relationship with food.

Changing her relationship with food and fitness

Before the global outbreak, Sheri spent nearly half her time traveling for work, which made finding time to prioritize her health incredibly challenging. Sheri acknowledged that being on the road made eating healthy very difficult - but that has all changed since the pandemic outbreak.

Sheri has since developed a changed relationship with food and her new healthy habits include planning out meals for the week; getting in at least 10,000 steps a day; and attending fitness classes three times per week at a small gym that recently reopened near her home.

Sheri admits she will need to work hard to continue to focus on health as she has more recently if her travel schedule returns to what it was pre-COVID-19.

However, she is hoping to approach her work travel differently, taking into consideration where and how her meetings will be conducted so she may better maintain her new routines.
