To mark the UK's For National Apprenticeship Week, Nottingham Trent University (NTU) hosted a range of virtual events to help employers and people interested in apprenticeships find out more about this alternative route to higher education.
Exploring recruitment opportunities with employers
The week provided employers with an opportunity to engage in lively Q&As with NTU's expert apprenticeship team and course leaders, enabling people to explore the exciting portfolio of provisions on offer and see how apprenticeships can provide a cost effective solution to upskilling staff and recruiting exciting new talent.
NTU also hosted its Meet the Employer digital event that provided potential apprentices with a chance to chat with employers to explore recruitment opportunities with industry and sector leaders that are keen on investing in new talent.
Understanding NTU's apprenticeship offerings

Various NTU departments hosted sessions sharing information about different apprenticeships on offer at the University.
These sessions included informative presentations highlighting the tangible benefits this apprenticeship could bring to an organisation before giving attendees the opportunity to join in an interactive questions and answer session with NTU's expert team.
For example, NTU Computer Science team hosted an event focusing on its Level 6 Digital and Technology Solutions Professional Degree Apprenticeship, while NTU School of Architecture, Design and the Built Environment shared information about its Level 6 Civil Engineering Degree Apprenticeship, and the Nottingham Business School discussed its Level 6 Digital Marketer Degree Apprenticeship.
Talking directly to employers hiring apprentices
National Apprenticeship Week also included Nottingham Trent University's Meet the Employer apprenticeship applicant event. This event was the perfect opportunity for those interested in undertaking an apprenticeship to learn more about this exciting route into higher education, as well as speak directly to employers actively hiring apprentices.
Some of the employers involved included Experian, E.ON, Greencore, Kindeva, and Unilever.
Participants joined a wide selection of employers from a variety of industries and sectors, many of whom are actively looking to recruit fresh talent and fund them to undertake a degree apprenticeship alongside NTU.
This annual event at NTU enabled participants to speak first hand to employers about the opportunities they have available, hear from current apprentices about their experiences and speak to the team at NTU about what undertaking an apprenticeship with the University really means.
