Supportings its communities

Operating in a responsible and sustainable way every day, everywhere means that Diageo can support its communities, protect and preserve natural resources and ensure alcohol plays a positive role in society.

Key focus areas for sustainability

Diageo's priorities are guided by the issues that are most material to its business and the value chain it creates.

From the farmers who grow our ingredients, to its employees and contractors, to the consumers who buy our brands, Diageo wants to make sure it is a positive influence on society and the environment.

It's three focus areas are:

  • Promoting positive drinking: Diageo is committed to promoting moderation, tackling misuse, and improving laws and standards, while respecting the fact that many people choose not to drink alcohol at all. The company markets its products responsibly and provides the information consumers need to make informed decisions about drinking, or choosing not to drink.
  • Pioneer Grain to Glass Sustainability: For our business to be sustainable, it needs to create enduring value. Diageo wants to positively impact the communities in which it operates, sources and sells and protect the natural resources on which we all depend. Diageo aims to make sure it is doing business the right way, from grain to glass. Diageo wants to promote inclusive growth by fostering sustainable value chains, delivering integrated community programmes, and using natural resources efficiently across its whole value chain.
