 September 07, 2021

The technical talent at Medtronic sits at the core of the company. These employees help develop meaningful innovations that change lives around the world.

In recognition of this talent, Medtronic Chairman and CEO Geoff Martha celebrated distinguished Bakken Fellows, who represent the best and brightest technical minds at Medtronic.

"Proud of the accomplished women who have achieved this tremendous honor. They embody the innovative and pioneering spirit of our co-founder, Earl Bakken," tweeted Geoff.

The highest technical honor at Medtronic

Established in 1979, the Medtronic Bakken Society is the highest technical honor at Medtronic.

Named after its late co-founder Earl Bakken, the Bakken Society recognizes individuals who have made multiple technical contributions to the company and to the biomedical device industry.

The Medtronic Bakken Society holds an annual colloquium. Each year, the group meets to discuss issues related to the industry like data analytics, R&D, co-morbidities, or emerging markets.

They also induct new members to the Bakken Society as Bakken Fellows.
