Bazaarvoice celebrates employee for Hispanic Heritage Month

 October 14, 2021

Bazaarvoice celebrates Hispanic Heritage Month, an annual observation that celebrates the histories, cultures and contributions of American citizens whose ancestors came from Spain, Mexico, the Caribbean and Central and South America.

The company has spotlighted Tanialee Gonzalez, a Senior Program Manager based in Austin Texas on Bazaarvoice's Sales Enablement team, who explains why she is proud of her Puerto Rican heritage.

Invested in diversity and inclusion

For Tanialee, it is important that Bazaarvoice celebrates and raises awareness of Hispanic Heritage Month because it demonstrates the company's investment in diversity and inclusion.

"I've never worked at an organization that has prioritized cultural diversity and it feels valuable to be seen and celebrated," comments Tanialee.

Celebrating her Hispanic heritage

Tanialee has lived in Puerto Rico twice - firstly when she was born there, and then for a short period of time as a child. She reflects on the memories and traditions that have always stuck with her such as Parrandas, and her favorite Puerto Rican dishes such as Mofongo, Empanadillas, and Flan.

"I come from a large extended family, so some of my memories include singing and dancing to Salsa songs and playing Latin instruments," reflects Tanialee. "Music has always been an integral part of family gatherings and that's something I hope to continue as I get older."
