Two women working for Medtronic Australia and New Zealand have won awards from the Medical Technology Association of Australia (MTAA) for their industry impact.
Advancing the careers of women in medtech
Emma Press, Senior Director of Ethics and Compliance, won the MTAA Women in MedTech Champion Award, which celebrates an individual who has been a key contributor to advancing the 'Women in MedTech' agenda within Australia.
“I’m humbled to receive this award and I’d like to recognise my fellow nominees for their work. Medtronic and the industry have made progress supporting women to have meaningful careers in MedTech,” said Emma.
Celebrating an inspiring female leader

Meanwhile, IT Director Fiona Lim received the MTAA Emerging Women in Leadership Award that celebrates an inspiring emerging female leader in the medical technology industry who has taken on a career challenge, career move or career change within the last two to three years that has high potential for industry impact.
The winner also exhibits leadership qualities such as strategic risk-taking, embracing innovation, entrepreneurship, and an appetite for driving change and is a rising star, who, regardless of age, is seen as a mover and shaker with high potential for future success in the industry.
“This is such an honour and I am so humbled. I’d like to dedicate this award to my colleagues who have given me so much support. The recognition motivates me to continue driving diversity and equity initiatives,” added Fiona.
