Diageo has featured again in the Financial Times (FT) Diversity Leaders ranking.

The employee-led survey, conducted by FT research partner Statista, assesses employees’ perception of company inclusiveness or efforts to promote various aspects of diversity. These include gender balance, openness to all forms of sexual orientation, race and ethnicity, disability and age.

"We will continue to champion inclusion and diversity across our business, with our partners and communities, to celebrate diversity and help shape a tolerant society," says Diageo.

Prioritizing diversity and inclusion

Diageo understands that the best performing businesses prioritize inclusion and diversity. The company believes it is crucial to create a culture with inclusion and diversity at its heart. Its commitment starts with its people and its aim is to ensure that all its people around the world thrive, by shaping market-leading policies and practices.

For its business to thrive and for Diageo to realize its ambition, the company depends on recruiting, retaining and developing diverse talent with a range of backgrounds, skills and capabilities in each of the 180 countries in which it operates. Diversity of thought and experience fuels the company's growth and innovation and brings it closer to its consumer base.

Diageo views diversity in the broadest possible sense, including gender, ethnicity, age, sexuality, social class, education, experience, ways of thinking and more.

Supporting inclusive employees

The company celebrates diversity everywhere and supports a variety of employee groups throughout the world.

These range from its women's network Spirited Women, to its Asian and African heritage groups, its Race, Ethnicity and Cultural Heritage group REACH, its LGBT+ Rainbow networks and its INC group which runs a yearly inclusivity week.

Diageo believes everyone has a vital contribution to make to its story and it wants all of its people to feel part of it.
