WSP UK Executive Director Rachel Skinner is recognised in the 2022 New Years Honours List, receiving a CBE by Her Majesty The Queen.
Achieving excellence in infrastructure
Rachel joins more than 1,200 people on the UK New Years Honours List, having received the outstanding accolade thanks to her services to infrastructure.
Speaking about the achievement, Rachel said, "This honour is unexpected and humbling, yet also exciting as it recognises the importance of fast, fair climate action across all infrastructure sectors as the world makes permanent change towards net zero. A sincere journey to the ICE and WSP for supporting my journey so far."
Recognising UK-based talent
Overseen by the Cabinet Office Honours and Appointments Secretariat, the honours system allows British nationals or citizens of the 15 Commonwealth realms to be nominated. The Queen approves the final list, with honours ranging from the Companion of Honour and the Order of the Bath, knighthoods and damehoods, and CBEs, OBEs, MBEs, and the BEM.
The 2022 New Years Honours list has seen 47.9% of recipients being female, with 15.1% of recipients being from an ethnic minority background.
