Capgemini's theme for Pride Month is Take Pride, Take Action which encourages employees to support LGBT+ colleagues by being willing to stand by their side as an ally.

In line with this theme, Capgemini HR Business Partner in India, Rukmani Anandan, shares some simple yet impactful ways to be an ally to the LGBT+ community.

Be vocal and visible

Show solidarity with LGBT+ colleagues by being willing to stand by their side. If you witness any discrimination, speak up and make it clear that it's not okay with you.

Be respectful

Respect everyone's comfort level and privacy at the workplace. If someone comes out to you, do not assume they are out to others.

Provide a safe space

As an ally, you can offer a safe space that empowers you LGBT+ colleagues to share their stories and feel valued for who they are.

Be inclusive

Treat your LGBT+ co-workers exactly as you treat all other colleagues. Engage in conversations about their lives and families.
