Capgemini is a Fellowship Host Company with the Hiring Our Heroes (HOH) Fellows Program. HOH works to connect the military community with meaningful employment opportunities and is helping Capgemini to attract and retain top military talent. HOH Fellows Programs are best-in-class workforce development programs that place highly skilled and educated transitioning service members, veterans, military spouses, and military caregivers with employers committed to hiring them. The programs provide networking, professional training and hands-on experience in the civilian workforce. Participating host companies harness the power of internships to find, evaluate, and hire the best military talent.

Capgemini's Dixita Pokhrel Bhandari is a fellow in the Salesforce Fellowship Program and below she discusses the Hiring Our Heroes Fellows Program. She is an army military spouse residing in Boise in Idaho, United States.

Choosing to work for Capgemini

"Joining Capgemini will provide me with the opportunity to take on new responsibilities, develop my Salesforce Skills, and grow within the organization. They have a great work culture and values where people support and encourage each other, and these are the values I share as well. I felt I could be a good fit with Capgemini," says Dixita.

Gain from a fellowship

"As an aspiring fellow, I am hoping to gain hands-on work experience fostering career growth and development in the Salesforce platform. I am also looking for support combined with mentorship to develop the confidence and skills I need to become a successful consultant, and also influence the outcome of projects for the team and clients," comments Dixita.

Becoming a Salesforce Technical Architect

"I found out about the HOH Salesforce Fellowship Program through my husband. It really had me interested in this program. I reached out to the Program Manager and found out more about the requirements. Then I started preparing for Salesforce admin certification using all the resources provided by HOH and Salesforce. I passed my Admin 201.301 exam and became a Salesforce certified administrator. My goal is to succeed as a Technical Architect, and I am actively advancing my Salesforce knowledge and following all the steps needed to become one," Dixita explains.

A great career fit as a Salesforce professional

"As a military spouse, getting trained in Salesforce has helped me reskill and upskill into a meaningful long-term career. It opened up opportunities to work remotely. I can get trained and work from anywhere with access to an internet connection," she says.

Enjoying some downtime

"In my leisure time, I like to visit new places and go hiking in the mountains and high altitude places," adds Dixita.

Putting skills to work

The HOH internship programs range from six to twelve weeks and connect service members, military spouses and military caregivers with companies that provide experiential opportunities with the goal of hiring.

Fellows spend four days a week with their host company where they receive on-the-job training and build their civilian work experience. Throughout the program, fellows spend one day a week in professional development and employment-related training. Fellows have the opportunity to develop their skills by earning professional certifications through self-paced programs.

Programs include:

  • Corporate Fellowship Program
  • Military Spouse Fellowship Program
  • Caregiver Fellowship Program

Building and utilizing new skills

Fellows grow their networks exponentially in a short time and quickly align their skills with industry standards.
