HCL Technologies partners on project to train youth for IT jobs

HCL Technologies is a socially responsible company and has partnered with the National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC), India’s leading skill development organization with the aim of training youth for technology roles. 

HCL Technologies Vice President, Subbaraman Balasubramanyan, exchanged a memorandum of understanding with Ved Mani Tiwari, Chief Operating Officer of the NSDC with the goal of training 20,000 people for IT jobs.

Involving the industry in skill development

NSDC aims to promote skill development by catalyzing the creation of large, quality and for-profit vocational institutions. Further, the organisation provides funding to build scalable and profitable vocational training initiatives.

Its mandate is also to enable support systems that focus on quality assurance, information systems and train the trainer academies either directly or through partnerships.

NSDC acts as a catalyst in skill development by providing funding to enterprises, companies and organizations that provide skill training. It also develops appropriate models to enhance, support and coordinate private sector initiatives.
