February is LGBTQ+ History Month, an annual celebration of LGBTQ+ achievements throughout history.
Nottingham Trent University's (NTU) staff and student communities are long-term supporters of this important awareness month. Over past years, rainbow roads and flags have been installed across NTU campuses and the City Centre to mark this occasion.
Celebrating diversity of LGBTQ+ community

LGBTQ+ History Month is firmly embedded in NTU's yearly event programming.
Each February, NTU celebrates the diversity of the LGBTQ+ community and their achievements throughout history via a series of events and activities - from film nights and book clubs to transgender awareness workshops and voguing masterclasses. The opportunity also provides an elevated moment for championing and defending the rights of all LGBTQ+ people.
Celebrating LGBTQ+ History Month forms part of NTU's dedication to sustaining an inclusive learning and working environment, which is enriched by diversity, values differences and promotes fairness, respect and equality of opportunity.
Encouraging a progressive and diverse environment

NTU is inclusive of all sexual orientations and gender identities and is proud to be a Stonewall Diversity Champion. NTU is committed to encouraging a progressive, inclusive and diverse environment for all who work and study at the University.
LGBTQ+ inclusion is embedded throughout NTU's learning environments through policies, information, guidance, training, and support.
Nottingham Trent Students’ Union (NTSU) also has a number of LGBTQ+ networks that organise events and campaigns designed to improve the University experience for LGBTQ+ students.
