WTW employs impressive women, with WTW Midlands Regional Director Sara Fardon having been installed as Junior Warden, Worshipful Company of Insurers (WCI).

Sara will use her time with WCI to promote excellence in the insurance industry.

A healthy mix of modernity underpinned by tradition

"I’m honoured and delighted to have been installed yesterday as Junior Warden of the Worshipful Company of Insurers," said Sara. "I’ll be working with newly installed Master, Claire Burrell and Senior Warden, Karl Jarvis, and I’m really looking forward to the forthcoming year. "

"So what is the Worshipful Company of Insurers?" posed Sara. "The WCI is a Livery Company which promotes insurance as a force for good, supported through education, philanthropy, and fellowship. The Livery also supports the City of London and the Mayoralty. It’s hugely engaging, and a healthy mix of modernity underpinned by tradition. As an Insurance Livery we have the honour this year of having two Sheriffs of London from the insurance world – Dame Sue Langley and Bronek Masojada. As an individual member you get to meet lots of people from across the market, broaden your horizons, increase your knowledge, take part in some fabulous events, and have a really good time! Thank you to everyone who has supported me so far and of course to WTW. "

Promoting excellence in the insurance industry

Incorporated as The Company of Insurers, WCI was granted Livery status in October 1979 to become the Worshipful Company of Insurers. The Livery status, awarded only three months after the Company’s incorporation, is something of a record and an endorsement of the position that the insurance industry holds within the City of London. Now with over 520 members (over 146 Freemen and more than 355 Liverymen) drawn from professions across the insurance industry, WCL shares a rich tradition with London’s Livery Companies of promoting excellence within the industry, while working to help and contribute to the City Civic in London and the wider community.
