Beam Suntory marked Hispanic Heritage Month – a time to honor and celebrate the contributions, diverse cultures, and history of Hispanic and Latin communities within the US.

The company featured members of SALUD, its Hispanic and Latinx Employee Impact Group, sharing favorite traditions from their countries.

Valuing traditions from a Mexican heritage

Marking the occasion, Corporate Digital Communications Specialist, Regina Vargas, sahred her thoughts. "One of the traditions that I value most from my Mexican heritage is cooking meals with my family. My grandmother taught me how to make a variety of traditional dishes, including tamales from scratch."

Regina is a social media and digital marketing professional with a demonstrated history of strategic audience growth and development for a wide variety of food and beverage clients.

Learning the culture

On-Premise Portfolio Manager, Melissa Pamela Pujol shared: "I used to spend every summer visiting Guatemala; learning the culture, trying the food and interacting with the people. Years later, I was able to share these experiences with my husband when I brought him to Antigua, Guatemala for the first time."

Melissa serves as the primary contact for Beam Suntory in assigned accounts to effectively drive incremental distribution, volume, awareness and velocity of Beam Suntory brands.

Creating a fun atmosphere

Senior Sensory Specialist - Innovation, RTD, Research & Development, Adriana Lezama, discussed one of her favorite memories. "One of my favourite things in Costa Rica is the Mascaradas - gatherings where people wear large masks that represent popular characters and dance along to the traditional Costa Rican bands called Cimarronas," she says. "Together, they create a fun atmosphere for lots of dancing and celebrating."

Adriana is an experienced and dedicated Sensory Scientist with proven success in managing descriptive, discrimination, and consumer sensory studies in and outside the United States.
