Learning for Life
"Learning for Life is an amazing programme because it involves interacting with communities and actually seeing changes in people's lives," says Maryanne.
"Sustainability projects such as these are quite challenging and therefore quite exciting. Working on projects like Learning For Life have been significant in my career development, and I'm quite excited because of the networks that I've been able to build, the partnerships that I've been able to create, and just overall joy in doing great work. As I walk away I feel very thoughtful, I feel that I can no longer take things for granted, there's a lot of work that needs to be done in this country, and I'm so glad that programmes like this are supporting the government in making things happen."
Improving livelihoods
Learning for Life is Diageo’s business and hospitality skills programme for those seeking employment in the hospitality industry, but who may have faced barriers to education and employment in their lives.
The programme provides equal access to business and hospitality skills and resources to increase participants’ employability, improve livelihoods and support a thriving hospitality sector that works for all.
In partnership with local educational, governmental and training organisations, Learning for Life supports the growth of the individuals involved, of Diageo, and the hospitality industry overall.
