BD aims to increase the diversity of its workforce, particularly in leadership roles.

In an era of globalization and rapidly changing demographics, it has become more important than ever to develop a deeper knowledge of the world and the needs of the markets in whch BD serves. Building a community of diverse individuals and perspectives within the company is good for business and critical to their future.

Women & minorities

BD has set goals to increase the representation of women and ethnic minorities at all levels and in all regions of its organization. It tracks hires, promotions, job openings, growth of business units and resignations to measure its progress.

BD aims to achieve goals for diversity and inclusion, and its primary focus includes:

- global mentoring and networking programs to drive sponsorship, retention and career development for existing associates

- training and tools to accelerate cross-cultural work and team effectiveness in development programs at all levels

- associate resource groups, including BD’s Women’s Initiative Network, and external partnerships with diverse professional associations and talent communities

Women’s Initiative Network (WIN)

Companies that perform best on organizational and financial measures have women strongly represented at top management levels. BD’s Women’s Initiative Network (WIN) is a global, associate-led program that supports women at all levels with the skills, knowledge and experience to help advance their careers. WIN groups hold events at the site/regional level, as well as globally coordinated events, such as celebrations for International Women’s Day.
