Medtronic supports women returners with Careers 2.0

Who Medtronic looks for

Applicants must meet the following minimum qualifications:

  • A current career break of two or more years
  • An undergraduate degree from an accredited college or university in a STEM field
  • Minimum of four years of relevant professional work experience, excluding internships

Returning to work after a significant break in your professional career can be difficult. This six-month, paid returnship will refresh your technical skills while you work with a market leader in healthcare. In addition to key job responsibilities, Medtronic provides technical training, professional development, and peer mentoring with full access to the organization’s engineering and scientific community.

Here are some of the types of openings available via Medtronic's Career 2.0 program:

  • R&D Engineer: design, development, and testing of cutting-edge medical devices
  • Reliability Engineers: predictive engineering during development and compliance during verification and validation activities
  • Software  Engineers: development of product software, data management software, or improvements to processes, systems, and products
  • Continuous Improvement Quality Engineers: systems engineering and Six Sigma DMAIC tools to make product or process improvements

Medtronic Family Care Leave Policy

Taking the time to deal with family care needs is also made easy for Medtronic employees.

The Medtronic Family Care Leave (FCL) Policy applies to all full-time and part-time employees in the United States. It provides up to six additional weeks of paid time off for employees to care for sick family members or to support family impacted when a spouse, child or parent is called to active military duty.

The benefit also covers mothers and fathers bonding with a new child (birth, adoptive or surrogate, and including non-birth parents). Combined with already existing parental benefits, mothers of newborns can now receive up to 14 weeks of paid time off and new fathers can receive up to 8 weeks.
