The thoughts, actions, and support of executive leaders are critical to women advancing in their careers.

In honor of International Women’s Day, WTW's award-winning Chief Operating Officer, Alexis Faber, provided insight into the company's commitment to achieving gender parity via an official executive statement.

Giving everyone equal opportunity

"This year’s IWD theme is #EmbraceEquity and focuses on creating fairness and equality in the workplace and beyond – something we are passionate about at WTW. At WTW, we are committed to giving everyone equal opportunity to unlock their full potential and succeed, regardless of gender and background. This diversity strengthens our business and benefits both our clients and our colleagues," commented Alexis.

Inclusion at the heart of the business

"We want every colleague at WTW to be empowered to bring their whole self to work every day. To do that, we continue to build a culture of inclusion and embed inclusion and diversity (I&D) into everything we do – growing the pipeline for underrepresented talent, increasing the diversity in our workforce, and promoting an inclusive culture and work environment. This collective responsibility starts with our leadership modeling the right behaviors and setting a strong example to colleagues. We will continue to hold our I&D agenda at the heart of our business strategy and accelerate plans to deliver on that basis," continued Alexis.

WTW's equity efforts and recognition

"In alignment with the #EmbraceEquity theme, WTW’s See Me campaign for IWD asks all colleagues to share what helps create an equitable experience in the workplace and provide a representative photo. We are also proud to announce that as of January 23, 2023, we joined 483 other companies across 45 countries as a member of the 2023 Bloomberg Gender-Equality Index to achieve a more equal and inclusive workplace. We’re honored to receive this recognition for the fifth year as we continue working toward our gender parity goals and enabling us to #EmbraceEquity in its truest sense. Another key component of our I&D work is our partnership with Paradigm for Parity, with a goal to achieve gender parity in senior leadership. In 2022 we exceeded our short term goal, with women in 31% of senior leadership roles and remain committed to ongoing progress," added Alexis.

A celebrated leader in the insurance industry

As Chief Operating Officer at WTW, Alexis supports the company’s short- and long-term success through oversight of operations, real estate, and technology.

Alexis' industry expertise spans more than 20 years in insurance and financial services. Alexis joined WTW in 2003 and has held a number of senior leadership roles with the company’s businesses. Prior to her current role at WTW, Alexis served as the Global Head of Financial Lines, Head of FINEX North America, Chief Operating Officer of North America Specialty Practices and Practice Leader of Risk Control & Claims Advocacy Group. Before joining WTW, she worked in investment banking at Citigroup, with a focus on the financial services industry.

Widely recognized as a leader in the insurance industry, Alexis was awarded Business Insurance’s prestigious Women to Watch Award in 2010 and named to Reactions Magazine’s 35-strong Women in Insurance leadership forum in late 2017.
