Eaton is one of the Best Places to Work for LGBTQ Equality

 April 30, 2019

For the fourth year in a row, Eaton is proud to be on the Best Places to Work index for LGBTQ Equality list from Human Rights Campaign, one of the largest LGBTQ civil rights organizations in the United States. HRC's vision is for all LGBTQ people to have equality at home, at work and in every community.

But what makes Eaton such a diverse and inclusive company?

Eaton aspires to be a model of inclusion and diversity

Eaton aspires to be a model of inclusion and diversity in its industry. Eaton wants to be recognized for the way it includes everyone by listening to what they have to offer. The company also wants to create an environment where all employees can be their best.

Eaton understands that diversity and inclusion achieves best results

For Eaton, inclusion and diversity means recognizing, valuing and leveraging the differences in everyone's perspectives and backgrounds that make each employee unique. Eaton needs inclusion and diversity to achieve the best results for its business and vision and to fulfill its aim to be a model of inclusion and diversity in the industry.

Openness to diversity attracts the best talent and inclusion allows Eaton to engage that talent fully. Eaton employees are free to achieve their highest potential in a workplace that promotes innovation and open communication.

Eaton provides resources supporting inclusion and diversity

Inclusion Eaton Resource Groups (iERGs) bring together employees who share a common purpose, interest or background. Eaton's seven iERGs promote a welcoming, inclusive work environment that welcomes difference and encourages the participation of all employees

Eaton's iERGs help Eaton identify priorities, break down barriers to change the culture, engage in business projects and get involved in initiatives to attract, retain and develop talent. Some of their activities include webinars, speakers, stretch assignment projects, networking events and roundtables with executives.

Inclusion Eaton Resource Groups (iERGs) are led by employees, for employees, on issues that matter. Any Eaton employee can get involved in iERGs as allies, so they can make new connections and find out about different perspectives.

Eaton Pride is Eaton's Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender iERG in North America and Europe, Middle East and Africa.

Eaton Pride creates a safe, supportive and confidential space for Eaton’s LGBTQ employees and their allies. They can share experiences, work together on common goals and provide unique ideas to help the business evolve towards even greater inclusion and diversity. Pride fosters LGBTQ awareness, education and engagement across Eaton regions.

“Our business is a dynamic mix of cultures, experiences, ages, races, genders, skills and more. When we embrace the different ideas, perspectives and backgrounds that make each of us unique, we - as individuals and as a company - are stronger," says Martin Mullin, Senior Vice President and General Manager, Safety Division, EMEA.

"It’s incredibly important to us that each person feels included, empowered and welcomed, so everyone can do their best work and we can attract, retain and engage top talent."
