Diageo’s ‘Learning for Life: Hospitality and Bartending programme’ has been awarded the Catering in Scotland (CIS) Excellence Award.

Carving out a career

Diageo's Learning For Life programme helps young people carve a career in the hospitality industry. It was set up in 2014 to equip young people who are long term unemployed with skills for work in hospitality industry. Participants are trained in bar-tending, hospitality, teamwork and communication skills.

A positive impact for youth

The programme aims to lower youth unemployment and support a skills boost. Learning For Life has a positive impact on both the lives of young people and the hospitality and manufacturing industry. In Ireland alone, 225 young people have participated in Diageo's Learning For Life programme since 2014 and 72% of those have gone on to full time employment or education.
