Chief Marketing Officer Julie Bramham is on the Asia-Pacific Power List of 50 most influential and purposeful marketers.

Julie oversees the marketing portfolio and product innovation for more than 100 Diageo brands.

In her role, she also promotes progressive gender portrayals which has made her a perfect candidate for the Asia-Pacific Power List.

A creative and innovative career in marketing

Julia has had a long and successful career with Diageo that has taken her from the UK to India. Over the years, she has made an impact both on marketing campaigns and gender equality initiatives.

While working for Diageo in London, Julia was marketing director of several of Diageo’s major brands, including Smirnoff and Captain Morgan, and then general manager of innovation, where she was in charge of product innovation across the Diageo portfolio of spirits and beer for Europe. She then moved to Bangalore to become CMO of Diageo India.

She has overseen campaigns including Johnnie Walker’s ‘The Travelling Billboard’ which grew sales by over 40% year-on-year as a result.

Julia also led a campaign for Royal Challenge that featured India's leading women cricketers and men's team captain Virat Kohli. The campaign sought to break gender barriers in sport and reached over 10 million people, earning it a place in Diageo global annual report and UNstereotype alliance’s global newsletter.

Julia also uses her innovation and creativity to be a self-described “passionate advocate” for diversity and inclusion. For her, it is the responsibility of marketers who “spend billions of dollars telling stories that shape culture” to bring about gender equality. Her gender equality efforts include speaking at events like the Spikes Asia Festival, where she shared Diageo's progressive gender portrayal framework with marketers; seeking out female directors and producers for Diageo campaigns; and leading a 'Creative Equals' programme in India to help women return to the industry through training.
