AECOM embraces the diversity of every employee and values the unique contribution they bring to the business.

Uplifting ethnic diversity, AECOM celebrated Hispanic Heritage Month and the voices and experiences of the company's Hispanic and Latinx team members.

Hispanic Heritage Month recognizes the histories, cultures and contributions of American citizens whose ancestors came from Spain, Mexico, the Caribbean and Central and South America.

From honoring culture to finding mentorship, members of AECOM's employee resource group, Justice, Unity, Networking, Togetherness, Opportunity, Support (JUNTOS), explain what this month means to them.

One member, AECOM Civil Engineer for Water, Carolina Patino, said: "Hispanic Heritage Month allows me to take a time out of the year to appreciate Hispanic role models who have given me the space to be where I am now."

Supporting diverse voices to be heard

AECOM employee resource groups ensure that diverse voices are represented and heard and provide opportunities for networking, career development and community outreach.

As a key part of AECOM's inclusion efforts, employee resource groups help create dialogue and understanding among employees, engage with and support communities, and make employees feel welcome.

“Being a leader for JUNTOS is meaningful to me because it allows me to help widen the path of opportunities for others so the future of AECOM is rich with diverse perspectives and contributions," said AECOM Vice President & Regional Water Business Development Leader, Fernando Vazquez.
