AECOM's Graduate Programme UK & Ireland (Ground Engineering)

From sustainable earthworks to complex ground investigations, AECOM's ground engineering graduates help deliver some of the world’s most technically demanding projects.

In Lyme Regis, England, AECOM graduates have assisted with the remedial design, including an anchored pile wall to restrict upslope regression, soil nails, dowel piles a new sea wall and drainage.

Further graduates have helped with the Lower Thames Crossing, a proposed road crossing of the Thames estuary, obtaining early information and data for the management of ground uncertainties and risks relevant to the scheme.

Graduates have also provided work at Hinkley Point C nuclear power station, including helping with the 32-metre-deep excavated rock face for the heat sink areas, overall site earthworks design, assisting with safe construction platforms, and creating a system of temporary drainage and utility services.

At the Mersey Gateway, AECOM graduates have participated in major ground engineering for the project's many new buildings, viaducts, and retaining walls.

Flexible working and a structured training programme

Students can use AECOM's flexible working to find a work/life balance that works best for them, meaning their evenings and weekends can be a time to relax.
